PHOENIX -

An apartment fire in north Phoenix shut down part of Northern Ave Wednesday night, and the people who called those apartments home were very upset watching it go up in smoke.

In home video, you can hear screams and see flames.

The 911 calls came in just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Firefighters say the blaze started on the balcony of a ground level apartment. They were able to contain it before it spread to the rest of the units.

People in surrounding apartments were evacuated as a precaution.

"We have power shut off to about 8 of those apartments right now, we're trying to isolate 'em back and get most of the people back in, but the damage is isolated to one with a little bit of smoke and water damage to the neighboring apartments," said Phoenix Fire Capt. Tony Mure.

No one was hurt. Investigators are still trying to find the cause of this fire.
