The former Atlanta mall manager charged with the battery of two men he says he previously told to leave the property represented himself in court on Thursday. Darien Long was arrested for tackling a man last month, and then charged with Tasing a man back in February.

Long appeared in court with a laptop computer, filled with videos he wanted to show to the judge.

William Wright, the man Long is charged with tackling at Metro Mall on March 21, stood beside an Atlanta Police Lt. Jeff Cantin while in court.

The lieutenant told the judge they have video of the fight taken by surveillance cameras at Metro Mall, where Long appeared to be the aggressor.

While in court, Long asked the judge to dismiss the case on the grounds that he was executing a citizen's arrest.  Long  asked Cantin if a Taser is considered "less than a lethal device."

Cantin replied, "it can be, yes."

After listening to both sides, the judge said there were still questions about both charges and sent it up to a higher court.
Long tells FOX 5 he was disappointed with the outcome.

"It was critical that the officers acknowledged that a Taser is a less than lethal device. He said it can be, but right now in Georgia it's considered a less than lethal device," said Long.

Long's next court date has not been set yet, but he says the next time he will use a public defender.
