He's young, smart, handsome and has one of the coolest jobs in town -- he's also one of Arizona's most eligible bachelors.
Casey Wilcox is the Director of Player and Media Relations for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
"I've been in the valley since '96. I went to Arizona State University, graduated in 2000, then started my junior year of college with the Diamondbacks and I am getting ready to start my 15th season," he said.
A busy career leaves little time for love, so his boss stepped in to help.
"So I was sitting in my office one day and saw a tweet that was asking from Arizona Foothills who might be the most eligible bachelors in Phoenix and of course I thought of Casey. I forwarded it to him and asked if he was okay for us to put it out there and he gave it the okay and we knew he was gonna be in for some grief after that," said Josh Rawitch, Senior Vice President of Communications for the Diamondbacks.
And grief is what he got -- only because they love him of course.
"On the first day of Spring Training when I introduced my department to the team, we actually introduced them one by one and then said we are amongst royalty here and introduced Casey we broke out the posters and handed out t-shirts to everybody. Everybody has been trading the shirts, trying to collect the whole set in the clubhouse," said Rawitch.
Josh Collmenter wears his shirt proudly.
"According to my girlfriend, the newest "Bachelor" is almost over. I'm sure they are in auditions for the next bachelor and if he is in the top 16 in Phoenix, he's got to be in the top 100 or 200 in the United States, so maybe there's a chance," he said.
Charles Brewer is in full support as well.
"I wear this blue steel shirt all the time.. during breakfast usually.. most all the time, so yeah, he gets a hard time from me especially."
When asked what girl would best fit Casey, Collmenter replied, "I think you have to be energetic. He is always on the go. I'm sure he can settle down for a nice bottle of wine or a long walk in the desert."
"You know, I don't think he is looking for any of these Scottsdale girls out here. He needs someone sophisticated," said Brewer.
"I believe he did get a haircut yesterday knowing that this piece was going to be done so I think he has been working hard to make sure he puts on the best face for the ladies," said Rawitch.
All sarcasm and joking aside, Casey would love to settle down one day.
"..looking for someone that can keep up with me. I kind of go move through life fast, try to have as much fun as possible, but I am ready to settle down, start a family, have kids and slow my life down a little bit," he said.
His idea of a perfect date?
"Just keep it casual. Something simple, just dinner and drinks, just a lot of chit chat, getting to know the person, where they're from and their story, what their long term goals are in life."
And despite being is buddies' joke material, he is open to seeing if it will lead him to finding Mrs. Right.
"You get to meet new people and hear people's stories and see if there is a connection and hopefully something pans out in the long run," said Casey.
