Cyclists will ride to support over 15,000 valley homeless school children on Saturday.

The 16th Annual Ride for the Children is a charity bicycle ride for cyclists of all types and skill levels.

Cyclists can ride road, mountain, beach cruiser, tandem, recumbent, handcycle, fun bike or an unicycle on their choice of a 65-mile metric century, a 25-mile and 10-mile route. All of races benefit The Real Gift Foundation.

Money raised from the event is used to provide new playgrounds, school supplies, backpacks and books, to socks, clothing, hygiene items, and holiday meals and toys to homeless children who go to school in Maricopa County.

The cost is $70 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. All donations are tax deductible. Participants receive an event T-shirt, post-ride breakfast and a chance to help the community.

Register for the ride ahead of time at or at the event on Saturday.
