The Canton Farmers Market is holding its final winter market of the season on Sunday, April 21st. 19 Michigan vendors will be selling their locally grown and hand crafted goods including honey, farm eggs, greens, jam, sauces, granola, meat, baked goods, soaps & candles and more.

Intu Specialty Teas will also be there and owner, Mary Jones, shares her recipe for fresh brewed iced tea.

 Iced Tea

Makes 1 quart

1. Place 6 teaspoons of intu Assam loose leaf black tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher.

2. Pour 2 cups of freshly boiled water over the tea. Steep for 5-7 minutes.

3. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water.

4. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the leaves and top-off the pitcher with cold water.

5. Garnish and sweeten to taste.

[Please note that this tea may tend to go cloudy or 'milky' when poured over ice; a perfectly normal characteristic of some high quality black teas and nothing to worry about! ]

Mary's tips:

- A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced tea is to double the strength of hot tea since it

will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.

- add the sugar or honey when the tea is still warm so that it dissolves better

- serve ice on the side not in your pitcher (otherwise it dilutes the tea)

- garnish with strawberries, apple slices and lemon
