Travelers heading from southeast Michigan to Chicago will soon have more options. Starting in June Lakeshore Express will begin flying out of Oakland County International Airport in Waterford.
Flights will be $218 roundtrip on a 30-seat turboprop plane and will run out of Oakland County Thursday, Friday and Sunday with two flights to Chicago on Thursday. One flight will return from Chicago's Midway Airport daily.
There will be no baggage fee, but passengers are limited to a carry-on bag weighing less than 35 pounds. According to the Lakeshore Express website seats will have as much legroom as first class and flights will offer free snacks and cocktails.
