PD: Suspect attempts to assault jogger near Flagstaff trail

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -

Police are looking for suspect who they say tried to assault a woman near the trailhead at Izabel Street and 6th Avenue on Sunday.

The woman had just finished her jog and was walking away from the trailhead when a man allegedly approached her from behind and tried to assault her.

Officers say the man released her and ran northwest on the trail after she started screaming.

Flagstaff Police Department will be increasing the amount of officers on the Urban Trails and remind citizens to be aware of their surroundings.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Native American male, approximately 5'10 to 6'0" tall with a medium build and appeared to be 20-to 25-years-old. The suspect had short black spiked hair and was wearing a white short sleeve shirt with long black athletic shorts.
