Where can you find some really awesome waterfalls?  Right here!  Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken traveled the state looking for some of Georgia's best waterfalls, and you can see all the pics of the ones he found here.
DAWSONVILLE, Ga. -

Good Day Atlanta's Waterfalls Week begins with a trip to Amicalola Falls in Dawsonville. It's the tallest cascading waterfall in the southeast -- 729-feet of rushing water in Amicalola State Park.

Since retiring nearly 20 years ago, Jack Anthony has been snapping pictures throughout north Georgia, especially waterfalls.

"I went back to some of them several times, so that amounts to two or three-hundred trips back into the mountains," said Anthony.

The trail leading to the fall, and the observation deck, make it really easy to view. If you want to try your hand at photographing, his tips include setting your camera on "manual" and using a longer exposure time. He also says a polarizer - will help since it cuts down on reflected light.

"I think that's the key.  Use a polarizer to get the reflection off the wet rocks," Anthony said.

Beauty shots or bum shots, you're spending the day gazing at one of nature's supermodels. He says the experience is worth far more than even a measly thousand words.

"I think it's the same thing as sitting at the ocean and watching the waves breaking. It's kind of hypnotizing," said Anthony.

Amicalola State Park is located at 418 Amicalola Falls State Park Road in Dawsonville, Georgia. For more information, click here!
