Jell-O can't stop slippery sales slide

Jell-O has lost its jiggle and nobody knows how to fix it. The dessert was invented more than a century ago and helped popularize a delicacy reserved for the rich into a quick, affordable treat. Yet despite its enduring place in pop culture, sales have tumbled 19 percent in the past four years, with alternatives such as Greek yogurt surging in popularity.

PHOENIX -

You can rate just about anything online these days. Restaurants, hotels, movies -- and now men. A new app allows women to read reviews about men from other women whether they've just hooked up or spent time with him in a relationship.

The app is called Lulu. Exes, hook ups, or girlfriends can anonymously leave any comment they want, good or bad. They can say if he's clean or messy, if he's cheap or spoils girls. You name it!

They can also rate him on humor, looks, ambition and commitment. The app was just released this week and it's already a big hit.

Lulu lets women read reviews from other women before going out with a new guy.

"I trust what another girl would say about whoever they previously dated," says Amy Graham.

Amy Graham says it's a great idea, but some aren't so quick to trust reviews that were likely written out of rage.

"A lot of people break up not on very good terms and tend to be mean to each other sometimes," says Natalia Baer.

"If she was [bitter] I would assume it's for a good reason," says Graham.

Good point -- but what do men think about the app?

"I know some women that should be on there, some guys should be like, hey do not go out with this girl!" says Greg Baer.

Greg Baer admits some of the reviews are relentless. Women can say anything they want. Sometimes they give compliments about bedroom performance or their ability to remember birthdays. But most of it is downright mean, calling guys cheaper than a big mac or a man child.

"If they said yes he does these sexual things that are completely off the wall that probably wouldn't even be true," says Ryan Mizokami.

"Not that I ever had a problem with this either, but if someone said I was hygienically challenged or smelled bad, that would be a big no-no for that guy getting any dates," says Greg Baer.

Some of the criticisms of the app's concept: everyone deserves a new start with each new relationship, and, couldn't your friends just go on and write good reviews?

Still, the fact remains that if you were buying a vacuum cleaner you would look at all reviews, dismiss a couple, but if there were 20 bad reviews you probably wouldn't buy it.
