Antonio Villaraigosa Blasts LA Weekly Article Regarding His Future

Posted: Updated:
Los Angeles, CA -

Mayor Villaraigosa was all smiles as he walked up to a podium set up just feet from the northbound 405 near Santa Monica Blvd. He praised all the workers who have been working on this project and made it possible for nearly 2 miles from I-10 to Santa Monica Blvd.

This was the first sign of expansion since the project started.

Things got much more serious when I and other reporters started pressing him to respond to an article in the LA Weekly that claims he will leave office nearly broke, without a new job and without a car and home because he's been staying a the city's Getty House and being chauffeured in a city SUV.

He blasted the article. Even voiced his disapproval of one of the reporters questions criticizing the reporter.

Villaraigosa said don't worry about him. He'll be fine. For him ... end of story.
