PHOENIX -

A police pursuit Friday afternoon stretched along the I-10 freeway and ended in a south Phoenix neighborhood. Investigators were after a suspect known as the "door kick burglar."

Police say the suspects got away driving more than 100 miles per hour on the freeway then exiting on 16th street before crashing into a home.

The high speed chase ended with burglary suspect's truck crashing into the south Phoenix home -- and then the two men fled on foot.

"We know there have been at least four door kicked burglaries in this neighborhood. Since the vehicle crashed, the suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous at this time," said Goodyear Police Lt. Jeff Rogers.

This neighborhood was in lockdown for several hours as police searched for suspect Bobby Ortega and person of interest Thomas Carrasco. Both were wanted in connection to at least 16 robberies.

Air units, k-9s, Goodyear and Phoenix PD were on scene going door to door looking for the men.

"Today a call for service came out that a vehicle matched the suspect vehicle description was seen in the area. Our patrol officers located the vehicle, attempted to make a stop on it, at that point the suspect vehicle did flee."

Police say the driver fled on Interstate 10 going more than 100 miles per hour.

"The suspects crashed then fled on foot, perimeters have been set," said Rogers.

Police say they found the suspects' handgun near the car and they say they found IDs that led them to the homes the suspects allegedly burglarized earlier.

"We started to have a spree of door kicked burglary to residences in the city of Goodyear. We've been developing suspect information for the past couple of months."

Police have made no arrests at this time. They do warn the public the men are armed and dangerous.
