Pastor Leroy Williams Pastor Leroy Williams

Pastor Leroy Williams of Inkster was first introduced to Michael Fields at a family gathering. The pastor told us that Fields fixes cars at a facility on Weaver on Detroit's west side.

"He told me he could do all the work," Williams said.

All the work to restore his 1950 Chevy Deluxe like new, and this man of the cloth said he was told it would cost him "$20,000."

"I thought that was fair," Williams said.

So a contract was signed and work was set to start on February 15, 2011 and was set to be complete five months later, but it was not. Now almost two years have passed and the pastor is still not behind-the-wheel.

Williams said he gave Fields $18,000. He eventually learned Fields has a criminal record.

"Took me a good little while to save that money up," he said. "I think he should come to me and talk to me, say Mr. Williams I'm sorry I done you like I did, but I will try to make it up to you."

The pastor finally took Fields to court, and the judge ordered Fields to give him the car back and pay back close to $15,000. But Fields has so far failed to do either, and the pastor is not sure he ever will.
