Marietta native signs with LA Dodgers

Posted: Updated:

Former Marist High School baseball star Kyle Farmer fulfilled a lifelong dream when he signed a contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. The Marietta native was selected in the 6th round of the Major League Baseball Draft.

Farmer has spent his career playing shortstop, but the Dodgers drafted him as catcher after he worked out for the team.

Farmer is friends with Alex Wood, who has already made his big league debut with the Braves. Wood was one of the first ones to call and congratulate farmer after he was drafted.
