Blackhawks take on Bruins in Game 5, ticket prices skyrocket in Chicago

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Stanley Cup Final is down to a best of three between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins. Nearly 20,000 fans will pack the United Center for Game 5 Saturday night.

Now that the Hawks are so close to winning the Stanley Cup, the cost of admission will mean most fans will enjoy the game at home or a tavern.

It's been a thrill ride so far. Some might say wherever you experience it, that's priceless. But as long-time fans say, "There's nothing like watching a Blackhawks game at the United Center."

If you want to feel the energy of the crowd, the brokers say tickets are available from the nosebleed section down to the glass.

Getting into the game is actually a little bit cheaper than Game 1 and Game 2 were, but not by much.

As of Friday morning, standing room-only tickets can be purchased on Stub-Hub for around $400 and other upper level seats are priced at $1,000. One person is asking $10,000 for seats on the lower level, near the glass.

If you're going to pay that kind of money, you might hope for 2 or 3 overtime periods to get your money's worth. You should be able to feel the hits for that kind of coin.

Meanwhile, there was some fan concern about goalie Corey Crawford, who uncharacteristically allowed five goals through on Wednesday, many of them on his glove side.

But Coach Quenneville says Crawford is still on his game.

The Hawks won with a 6-5 overtime thriller in Boston Wednesday night, which evened the series at two apiece. The puck drops shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday.
