TEMPE, Ariz. -

The best voices in the valley could be heard at Tempe Marketplace Saturday morning.

300 singers took part in the Arizona Idol auditions, some even lined up to audition at 3 a.m.

Your next American Idol could have been in line.

Young singers like 16-year-old Jessica Chamblin took the stage for a 30-second a cappella performance that they hope will lead them to the American Idol set.

"I just love singing and I'd love to become an artist," said Chamblin.

16-year-old Madison Williams has some serious skills, but she knows she's not alone.

"Everyone I've heard so far has something really great to bring to the table," said Williams.

The judges' highest hope is to discover the next Jordin Sparks, the 2007 American Idol from Glendale.

"We're looking for some great talent to come out of AZ and to see if we can have another Jordin Sparks on our hands," said Judy Yates, a judge.

The contestants want nothing more than to follow in her footsteps.

"It's exciting because she's from here, but it's also intimidating because those are big shoes to fill," said Williams.

At the very least, all of the performers agree getting on the stage at Tempe Marketplace brought them one step closer to making their dreams come true.

"I hope that it will prepare me for bigger and better things," said Chamblin.

The Top 10 singers (below) will perform Tuesday at 7 p.m. at FOX 10 studios.
