Woman allegedly assaulted, robbed at her west side Detroit home

Posted: Updated:
DETROIT (WJBK) -

People in a west side Detroit neighborhood say they are afraid. Many of them woke up to see police on their street. Their friend and neighbor had allegedly been tied up, beaten and assaulted in her home on Grandmont.

Dawn Hudson, the victim's friend, said a similar incident may have happened around the corner last week.

"A lady had just put in baby cameras for her baby-sitter, and just so happened the guys came in, they tied her up and raped her and beat her," she explained.

Police have not confirmed any other attacks, but said they are investigating.

In Tuesday's attack, three men ransacked the victim's house. They threw her down and duct taped her hands and face so she couldn't see. The police report indicated one of them had a gun. Two men went room to room demanding money. Neighbors said the victim may have been compensated in a wrongful death suit involving her family.

The thieves allegedly stole the victim's dogs, jewelry, 50 inch television and her wedding ring, as well as her 2006 white Infiniti SUV with the license plate CEF 9963.

The woman was taken to Henry Ford Hospital for treatment and is expected to be okay.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police.
