Across the valley, organizations and people are extending a generous hand to help families of the victims in the Yarnell Fire. And that includes the Phoenix Suns and Mercury.

A generous outpouring of support at us airways center for the families of the 19 firefighters killed in the Yarnell Hill Fire.

"They are very very brave men I don't know how they do that job and it's very sad and tragic," said Michelle Govig, who was there to donate blood.

Phoenix Suns and Mercury held a monetary donation drive. The money donated will help the families and victims affected.

It'll cover travel expenses for memorial, funeral and vigil services for families who will need to travel to the valley -- and much more.

It'll also help purchase replacement equipment for the Prescott Fire Department.

The American Red Cross is helping up north helping evacuees.

In the same location, another benefit. The teams and Cold Stone Creamery hosted a blood drive benefiting the Red Cross.

"Sometimes you don't know who to give the money to and the Red Cross is a solid organization that follows through on what they promise," said Govig.

"The wonderful thing about that organization is the money goes directly back to the families of the victims, the people working so hard in northern Arizona to put out the fires," said Amber Cox, Phoenix Mercury president & COO.

Those who donate will receive a Phoenix Suns or Mercury T-Shirt. And they'll also be entered to win autographed merchandise.

Coincidentally, the Suns and Mercury are hosting an overnight youth basketball camp in Prescott right now. It's a five day camp in its 11th year.

Donations will be accepted at US Airways Center until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
