CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man suspected of stabbing two people in northwest suburban Crystal Lake was arrested in Alabama Monday.

The 28-year-old woman and her 23-year-old boyfriend were found about 4:15 a.m. July 2 with multiple stab wounds in a home in the 1500 block of Isle Royal Circle in Crystal Lake, according to a release from Crystal Lake police. Both were taken to area hospitals in critical condition.

Police concluded the stabbing was a domestic-related and the McHenry County State's Attorney authorized an arrest warrant for two counts of attempted homicide for 30-year-old Jimmy Bell Jr., police said. Authorities believed Bell, of Elgin, had fled the state in his red Honda Accord.

About 1 p.m. Monday, U.S. Marshals arrested Bell in Tuscaloosa, Ala., where he is believed to have family, police said. He is currently being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail. The Honda has not been located.

The 28-year-old woman has since been released from the hospital and the 23-year-old man remains in "stable" condition.
