ACLU To Challenge Pennsylvania Same-Sex Marriage Ban

Posted: Updated:

The ACLU is going to court, seeking to overturn a state law that effectively bans same-sex marriage in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is the only Northeastern state that does not allow gay marriage or civil unions.

If the ACLU is successful, Pennsylvania would become the 14th state to legalize gay marriage. It would also have to recognize legal marriages of same-sex couples in other states.
