SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - A man and woman are in custody in connection with thefts from retail stores throughout Maricopa County.

Surprise police announced Wednesday that 42-year-old Kevin Elliott Green and 21-year-old Kayla Renee Vance are being held on suspicion of several counts of organized retail theft.

Police say the two suspects allegedly stole items valued at more than $15,000.

Surprise police say they began investigating Green and Vance after the two allegedly were involved in the theft of televisions from a Sam's Club.

An investigation showed both suspects allegedly were involved in similar retail thefts around Arizona's most populous county.

Surprise police served a search warrant at a home in Peoria and Green and Vance both were arrested.

Authorities didn't immediately know Wednesday if either suspect had a lawyer yet.
