Michelle Knight Releases Balloons In Front Of Castro Home

Posted: Updated:

Crews have started to tear down the Cleveland house of horrors where Ariel Castro held three women captive for a decade.

Live pictures have been streaming out to us all morning from the soon to be leveled Cleveland home.  One of those victims, Michelle Knight, is there watching crews demolish the home she was imprisoned in for so long.

Late last week,  Castro was sentenced to life, plus 1,000 years.  Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight escaped in May, after berry broke free and called 9-1-1.

As the cameras were rolling, Knight came out into the street in front of the house and made a bold statement when she released several yellow balloons into the air.

She also told reporters that, "She feels very liberated that people think of me as a hero and a role model."

She said she would like to become a motivational speaker to help heal other victims like herself.
