The Rochester Hills man who claims his tongue was partially bitten off by a pit bull has hired Geoffrey Fieger's law firm and is seeking damages for his medical bills and pain and suffering.

Daniel Newman says he lost 25 percent of his tongue in the attack. He is recovering with seven stitches on his face and 22 in his mouth.

Newman says he has fainting spells and can't eat any solid food.

"The dog was playing for awhile, and he just reached out and bit me," he explains. "He bit it completely off."

"I just grabbed my tongue and called my girlfriend to come get me."

Newman doesn't have health insurance, so his family has set up a donation fund at Chase Bank.
