DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) -

Police tell Fox 2's Andrea Isom a 45-year-old man was riding across the intersection of Freeland and Fenkell Wednesday night when he was hit by a car and killed. Apparently several witnesses were standing around, and tell Isom the victim didn't even stand a chance.

One witness says the driver was probably going 45mph. Fox 2 is told people speed at this intersection all the time, and the fact that the street lights are out make matters worse.

The 67-year-old suspected driver was arrested, police say for driving while impaired. He is in jail tonight.
