Bar who provided alcohol to underage ASU student is fined

TEMPE, Ariz. -

Cadillac Ranch in Tempe has been fined $6,000 after an investigation revealed it had provided alcohol to a 19-year-old ASU student who went missing and later died.

According to the compliance agreement, Cadillac Ranch will get ID-checking equipment and keep a record of all patron's identifications until 2015. They must also put a security plan into place.

Jack Culolias used a fake ID to get into Cadillac Ranch on the night he went missing back on November 30, 2012. Bouncers escorted him out of the bar for extreme intoxication. That was the last night he was seen alive. His body was found in the Salt River about two weeks later, wearing a 21+ wristband.

The bar was hosting a fraternity/sorority party that night, and did not properly use their ID log and therefore could not prove they checked many of the IDs, a report by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control found.

Investigators found Jack Culolias wasn't the only underage person drinking at the bar, and it's not the first time the bar has been cited for such a thing. Since 2009, Cadillac Ranch has been cited 3 other times for selling to underage people.
