Eastbound I-10 closed near Phoenix due to accident
PHOENIX (AP) - Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 are closed west of Phoenix at State Route 85 because of what the Arizona Department of Transportation is calling a serious accident.
ADOT says the accident late Friday morning has resulted in all eastbound traffic being detoured to SR 85 southbound.
Drivers wanting to reach the Phoenix area then can exit SR 85 at Broadway Road or Maricopa County 85 to go eastbound, then use streets such as Miller Road or Airport Road/Verrado Way to return to I-10.
Drivers intending to go past metro Phoenix can get back on I-10 by continuing south on SR 85 and then taking I-8 eastbound. I-8 connects with I-10 near Casa Grande.
ADOT says there is no estimated time to reopen I-10 eastbound. Westbound traffic is unaffected.
