WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) -

Charles Venson left his 2001 Chrysler Sebring at the 'M and A Auto Shop' on 8 Mile and Ryan Rd. in Warren. He paid for a new motor and gave a $200 down payment for labor.

A couple weeks later he went to pick up the car, but the employee told him his car was not there.

Venson then learned the auto shop was under new management. Fox 2 contacted the landlord, who said 'M and A' was behind on its rent and was evicted.

Warren Police also say Venson isn't the only victim; they recent got a report of a man's vehicle gone missing from an auto shop.

Warren Police say the case has been assigned to an investigator with the Macomb auto theft squad.

The case was originally about workplace discrimination. Now it's dragged on for more than a decade despite the case appearing to be one that the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation can't win.
