Phoenix Police served a search warrant at the Eddie's Quick Stop convenience store near 19th Avenue and Camelback Road, resulting in two arrests.

Authorities say this raid is the result of a one year investigation by police, FBI and Homeland Security.

Police say detectives learned employees at the convenience store were involved in drug sales, prostitution and liquor violations. Employees and others allegedly allowed assaults and aggravated assaults to occur on the store's property.

41-year-old Tyran Williams and 33-year-old Pedro Medina were arrested.

The store's owner wouldn't speak to detectives, but wasn't arrested.

During a search of both Williams and Medina's homes, police say they found and seized weapons, marijuana, body armor, two vehicles, cash and other evidence.

Police say the bust is related to nine arrests made last week at an apartment complex near 25th Avenue and Ocotillo.  At that time, detectives seized meth, marijuana, Oxycodone, weapons, cash and three vehicles.

"The connection really is this is that we believe that there is a criminal street gang that had infiltrated that apartment complex.. that same criminal street gang is also believed to have taken control over this particular corner at 19th Avenue and Camelback," said Sgt. Steve Martos.

More arrests are expected in this case.  Police say the investigation is ongoing.

A mug shot for Medina is pending.
