NOGALES, Ariz. -

A smuggling attempt at the border was thwarted on Thursday.

A pair of Mexican nationals were arrested at the port of Nogales for attempting to smuggle 10 pounds of cocaine into the U.S.

Customs and Border Protection officers referred a 42-year-old man and 52-year-old woman for a secondary inspection of their Dodge truck.

A drug-sniffing canine alerted to drugs within the engine's heater core. Officers removed six packages of cocaine worth $93,293.

The drugs and the people were turned over to ICE.
