PHOENIX -

A 30-year-old man is in critical condition after he was stabbed at a bus stop near 35th Avenue and Camelback on Saturday morning.

Phoenix Police say a suspect came up to the man just after 8:30 a.m. and stabbed him.

He immediately left the scene.

The 30-year-old was taken to a hospital with life threatening wounds.

While officers were surrounding the area, they say 41-year-old Louis Todd York walked up to them and said things to make them believe he was the suspect.

Police say they don't have a motive for why the suspect stabbed the man, but believe he may have mental problems.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and the suspect.

Louis Todd York was booked into jail for first degree murder.
