7-year-old boy killed, 5 other injured in Douglasville crash

A late Friday night single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in Douglasville claims the life of a 7-year-old boy and injures five others.

Police say it happened on the on-ramp of Interstate 20 from Fairburn Road just after 10 p.m. Friday. They say the driver of the missed an exit then overcorrected sending the SUV into a railing.

Officials say that 7-year old Jamal Lewis was killed at the scene, 14-year old Sandterrie Lewis, as holding onto life late Saturday night, and 6-year old Jasmine Lewis was listed in fair condition.

Two 15 year olds were also in the vehicle. One is listed in critical condition and the other was released from the hospital. The driver of the vehicle is expected to be released Sunday.
