Lytte Marques was arraigned Monday on charges of child abuse and
He was arrested Saturday after his 1-year-old son was found in a lethargic state at the Scottsdale Quarter shopping area.
Authorities say Marques told investigators he left the baby in a car seat because he was unable to find a sitter.
Marques says he left the vehicle running and the air conditioning on.
Authorities say the child remains in critical condition at a Scottsdale hospital.
Marques didn't have an attorney as of Monday. His
case has a scheduled Sept. 30 status conference and Oct. 2 preliminary
