Bucs fans try to stay positive after another loss

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans left Raymond James Stadium Sunday with a bad taste in their mouths following another loss.

Before the game started, Bucs ticket holders had plenty to be excited about: rookie quarterback Mike Glennon was making his first start and the team recently announced there would be no television blackouts.

"I'm excited to find out if it helps the chemistry," said Celeste Combs. "The team has been kind of dead so far this year, I'm hoping this is going to spark them up."

Instead, the Bucs lost to the Arizona Cardinals 13-10 in Glennon's first start, dropping their record to 0-4.

"It's just the fourth week of the season. There's still a lot of football to go," said Rickey Warren, a longtime Bucs fan, who was committed to staying positive. "New quarterback. No blackouts. I mean, we just can't ask for anything better than that."

Warren was hoping to see a near-sellout after the blackout announcement, but a quick glance around the stadium showed plenty of empty seats; the NFL allows clubs to buy up many of the unsold seats to avoid having their home games blacked out locally.

Managers at bars and restaurants throughout the Bay Area were excited to see some extra business due to the Bucs game airing on TV.

"We're going to get the business now before the game, people going to the game and instead of this mass exodus where everyone leaves and we're missing all those three hours of sales during the game, now we're going to have all that," said Mike Brooks, manager at Brick House Tavern. "It couldn't be better for us."
