Police described their suspect as a dreadlocked, 6-foot, dark-skinned man, weighing about 160 pounds with slender build. At the time of the assaults, the man, who is believed to be between the ages of 16 and 22, was wearing a pair of baggy blue jeans with a long tan belt that had a rectangular belt buckle, white gym shoes and a black t-shirt, police said.

The man, who committed the assaults mere blocks from each other during a three-and-a-half hour window beginning about 3 a.m., first attacked the two women at home in the 10300 block of South Emerald Avenue, police said.

After sneaking in through an open kitchen window, he sexually assaulted the two -- ages 43 and 22 – while the slept, police said.

He attacked the 14-year-old girl several hours later, only after failing to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl in her bedroom, police said.

The 11-year-old's father told officers he was at home in the 10100 block of South Green Street when he heard a dog barking and his daughter scream, police said.

He ran to the girl's room and saw a man peeking out of her closet, police said. The suspect then jumped out of the same window he had apparently crawled through and ran down the block.

There, the man saw the 14-year-old girl walking to a bus stop to catch a ride to school about 6:40 a.m., police said.

As he exited an alley in the 10000 block of South Peoria, the man approached the girl from behind, putting a knife to her throat and coercing her to a nearby yard where the sexual assault took place, police said.

All three victims were taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital. The 11-year-old girl was not injured.

Investigators were previously questioning a "person of interest," but have since come to believe that the man was not behind the attacks.
