The mother of a valley teen who was shot to death overnight is speaking to FOX 10. The 17-year-old girl and her 25-year-old boyfriend were found dead inside their east Phoenix home Tuesday morning.

And police are now looking for this man -- Hector Karaca. He had numerous run-ins with the law and was released from prison about a month ago.

The victims lived at a home near 27th Street and Indian School Road, but their car was found several miles away near 19th Avenue and Buckeye.

Police believe the suspect stole it and then set it on fire.

One of the victim parents own the property and the couple lived on a back house on the property. Thanks to witnesses who placed the suspect at the scene and saw him take off, police are confident they know who the killer may be.

25-year-old Joe Alonso Villa and 17 year-old Kristen Bianca Furgeri had been seeing each other for about a year.

"She was doing wonderfully; she was getting ready to graduate. She was going to get her driver's license. He had just proposed to her and she was going to get married. She was really happy and then this happened," said Sandra Furgeri, Kristen's mother.

Furgeri's mom moved to Montana for medical reasons and her daughter stayed in school here. She never felt her daughter was in any danger.

"If I had that feeling I would have forced my daughter to come back and live with me here. I would have done something different."

Police tell us the suspect, 24-year-old Hector Karaca, was released from prison earlier this year and may have been staying with the couple.

Monday night he was with spotted with the two before the shots rang out and witnesses saw him get into this white Hyundai and drive off.

Villa recently bought that car for his girlfriend.

"It was her first car, she was excited to get her license, she was going to get it this week."

Early Tuesday morning police found the car torched in an alley near 19th Avenue and Buckeye near downtown Phoenix. A neighbor called it in.

"I heard the loud explosions first and my wife goes what was that and I go, I don't know let me go check. I opened up the doors and then I see the light blazing and the smoke," says Gabriel Perez.

Police are on the hunt for Karaca as they try to piece together what led to the shooting. At this point, the motive isn't clear.

"It is heart wrenching. It has ripped my heart and my spirit right out of me. That was my baby girl."

Karaca has number of distinguishable tattoos including the word "Tucson" on his back and the name "Chavez" on his stomach.

He also has the words "south side" tattooed on his forearms.
