Search for autistic teen to be scaled back

MYFOXNY.COM - Avonte Oquendo, 14, has been missing for more than two weeks.

The NYPD says they may need to scale back their massive search effort for the autistic teen by the end of the week

Hundreds of officers have been searching streets, waterways, tunnels and train tracks.

Oquendo, who cannot communicate verbally, walked out of the River View School in Long Island City at about 12:38 p.m.
 on Oct. 4.

A mobile command center was set-up outside his school and has been manned by family and friends 24-hours a day.

A reward of $90K is being offered for his safe return.
