GOODYEAR, Ariz. -

A 78-year-old woman has gone missing from her Goodyear home under suspicious circumstances. Also possibly connected to this case is the woman's grandson, who was arrested in a carjacking Thursday night.

According to police, detectives found evidence that indicates possible foul play at the home of Hellen Jean Lee.  The garage door looks like something backed into it or rammed it.

Authorities went to the home late Wednesday after Lee's daughter who lives in Tucson reported her missing.

Lee is described as 5' 2" tall, 145 pounds with hazel eyes.  Her car has also been reported missing, but details about it have not been released.

Wednesday night, Lee's grandson Jason Howell was arrested for carjacking and felony flight in Chandler. He is currently in jail, and resides at Lee's home. He is considered a person of interest in this case. Read more on that story here: Woman carjacked, police chase suspect for miles

Goodyear Police say there is a history of calls to the home involving Howell and the grandson.

Thursday afternoon, a multi-agency law enforcement operation began at a location in Gila Bend. Originally, authorities believed they found a dead body in the desert, but say it's not a body, just additional evidence in the case.

While under arrest, Howell has been cooperating and pointed police in the direction of Gila Bend. The victim's remains have not yet been identified, but authorities believe it could be that of Lee.

They're waiting for confirmation from the medical examiner.

Police have stopped short of calling Howell a suspect in Lee's disappearance.
