PHOENIX - A grocery store manager was punched in the face and knocked unconscious -- all because she asked a shoplifting suspect to leave the store.

The Fry's worker hit her head pretty hard when she fell to the ground. 

Police say all she did was confront a group of teens that started eating food right off the store shelves -- and one of the teens knocked her out.

"When the guy hit me here, I fell to the right side on the floor.  I don't think you can see it on my forehead.. I have a giant ball," said Daisy Flores.

Flores says she hit her head so hard she doesn't remember getting hit or even going into work Tuesday night.

The hospital bracelet, the pain and the bruises told her story.

"It's frustrating not knowing what happened to me," she said.

What happened, according to police, was a group of teens came into the store, went to the deli section and started eating food they didn't pay for.  Flores, a front-end manager, says a friend told her that she asked the kids to leave and one of them got violent.

"I just reacted like any normal person would react and I ended up getting punched in the face and knocked out."

This is the second violent incident in recent months at the store on 19th and Glendale Avenues.

"I just don't feel safe anymore.  I don't feel safe working at Fry's or in the grocery business.  I don't feel safe working in big groups of people because I don't know what they're going to do," said Flores.

The store does have security guards, but Flores feels they didn't do enough to prevent the violent outcome.

We called Fry's twice for a comment on this story, but our calls were not returned.

As for the kid who pulled the punch, police are still looking for him.  He's described as a black male in his late teens with a thick accent.  If you have any information on his whereabouts, you're asked to call the Phoenix police.
