Riverdale police seek hit-and-run driver

RIVERDALE, Il. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Police are still searching for the driver of an SUV that stuck and critically injured a pedestrian Saturday night in south suburban Riverdale.

A few minutes after 6 p.m., a 30-year-old man was hit by the vehicle while crossing 138th Street near Atlantic Avenue, according to a statement from Riverdale police.

The vehicle, a dark-colored Jeep SUV, possibly a Patriot, was last seen going southbound in the 14500 block of Wood Street, police said.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition, police said.
