Posted: Updated:

Many of you are getting ready to head out of town for the holidays, and even if your trip isn't until next month, you'll want to pay attention.

Style expert and packing pro Lindsay Albanese is here with the best way to pack smart for any of your upcoming trips.

5 Expert packing Tips for Holiday Travel: Perfect for Thanksgiving travel coming up!

I've traveled the world with my celebrity clients for the past 11 years as a stylist and I know all the tricks of the packing trade!

  • Bag It- save plastic garment bags you get from the cleaners and roll or fold delicate fabrics in between to minimize wrinkles while packed in a suitcase.
  • Roll it- Rolling clothes maximizes space in your suitcase, and also prevents those harsh fold lines.
  • Hat Pack- Take your hat(s) and put it upside down, brim up, in your suitcase and pack clothes around and under the brim to support and hold shape. Then pack folded or rolled up clothing inside the hat to hold shape as well.
  • Separate- Use the shoebags you get when you buy shoes to separate bras, underwear, tights, dirty clothes etc. in your suitcase.
  • Static Free- pack little plastic of fabric softener sheets in your suitcase and leave them in there. You will be so happy when you have them if you get static cling!
  • Handheld Steamer- My lifesaver! Who wants to deal with a shotty hotel iron? I pack a mini Rowenta steamer wherever I go. It's a quick and easy tool to get out those creases.
  • Hang it- when you can, it's smart to hang nicer things on those paper and wire hangers you get from the cleaners. This way you don't have to worry about extra hangers in a hotel closet ans it also keeps your clothes nice.
  • Pack Outfits- may sound simple, but most people just throw whatever they have in a suitcase with no rhyme or reason resulting in taking the extra time to pack outfits will save time and sanity while traveling
