Cacia's Bakery Continues 60 Year Thanksgiving Tradition

It's a Thanksgiving tradition here in Philadelphia: you line up to drop off your turkey at Cacia's Bakery on Thanksgiving morning.

You let them handle the cooking.

The line has been out the door, and some people have been in line since 4:30.

Sam Cacia is the current owner. He was 12 years old when he first started working at the bakery. The Thanksgiving tradition started as a favor for neighbors, but it quickly grew into something big, Cacia told Fox 29's Dawn Timmeney. He showed Timmeney the bakery and the classic brick oven.

"The brick, cooks from the outside out. Makes it nice and juicey," Cacia explains why the turkeys cooked at his place are so good. And also, the bakery cooks 363 days a year and can cook anything that won't fit in your oven.

Sam Cacia's daughter Danielle Cacia has also been working the bakery since she was 12 years old. She started at the same age that her father did.

"When I was getting up at 3:30 this morning, my friends were all going to bed. Hope you guys had good time and were all safe. But have fun without me because i will be here for the rest of my life," she joked.
