ELMWOOD PARK, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A west suburban man who won $1 million in the Illinois Lottery plans on using the money to travel.

Stanislaw Widelski bought the $2 Powerball ticket that matched the first five numbers in Wednesday's drawing at A&D Food and Liquor at 7705 W. Belmont Ave. in Elmwood Park, according to the Illinois Lottery.

Widelski and his wife moved to the United States from Poland 20 years ago, and have always wanted to see more of the country, the statement from the Lottery said.

"Because of this lottery win, my wife and I can do some travelling, starting with New York and Washington, D.C.," Widelski said in the statement.

He also plans to share the money with his family and plan for retirement.

The store that sold the winning ticket will receive a $10,000 bonus, one percent of the jackpot amount.
