"All right, full auto," the firing-range instructor tells a 9-year-old girl. She braces the Uzi submachine gun and opens fire at a black-silhouette target. But the recoil wrenches the fully automatic weapon upward, and the instructor is shot in the head and killed.

MESA, Ariz. -

Police arrested a man after he allegedly pointed a gun at his roommate early Monday morning.

According to Mesa police, Jeremy Lamont Bell was at his apartment near 4600 block of East Caballero Street when he got into a physical confrontation with one of his roommates.

Bell allegedly went to his bedroom, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the roommate he was fighting with.

Witnesses tell police that Bell was upset because he thinks his boyfriend, who is another one of his roommates, has been cheating on him.

Officers and the Mesa Air Unit surrounded the apartment and Bell was contacted on the phone.

After a few minutes, police say Bell gave himself up and complied with officers.

Bell allegedly admitted to pointing a gun at his roommate, but said it was in self-defense.

Police say Bell isn't allowed to possess a firearm because of a prior felony conviction.

Bell was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct with a weapon, prohibited possession of a firearm and assault.
