Officials: O`Hare grazing program a success

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

The Chicago Department of Aviation is calling the new O'hare grazing program a huge success.

The airport brought in 37 goats, sheep, llamas, and burros to graze on land around the airport.

The idea was to have a very green alternative to pesticides and mowers that produce exhaust.

The animals basically ate their way through 120 acres of overgrown land.

They're back at a farm in Beecher, Ill. for the winter, but their airport said they'll be back in the spring.
