Census data shows Arizona population at 6.6 million

Posted: Updated:

The latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows Arizona's population is growing, but at a modest pace.

We jumped more than a percent this year, with 6.6 million people.  That's about 75,000 more than 2012.

Arizona ranks as the 15th most populated state in the country, just behind Massachusetts and Washington State.  California has the most people with over 38 million -- that's more people than Canada.

And the United States finishes the year with more than 317 million people.  That's about a half of a percent jump over 2012.
