SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Authorities say a Phoenix police officer and a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office volunteer posse member are in critical condition after being shot -- after the shooting, the suspects fled into a Scottsdale neighborhood near 56th Street and Osborn.

Casey Bank was in her kitchen Tuesday afternoon when something caught her eye.

"Just happen to glance up and look out the window.. I saw just a flash of somebody running through the yard," she said.  "I called the police and I was like, there's somebody running through the yard and I tried do the best description I could in flash."

Casey hid in a bedroom with her son while police and the SWAT team swarmed the neighborhood.

"Heard a little tap at the door and the whole SWAT team was lined up.. and I had him on my hip and cellphone and they made us run out as quick as we could," she said.

Casey had no idea the person running through her yard was the man accused of shooting a Phoenix Police officer and MCSO posse member just up the street.

"Apparently he had hopped that fence because they found a gun over there.. and then they found clothing on this side of the yard," she said.  "He jumped the wall to the south here - and then grabbed the neighbors cell phone - and jumped back over.. and was hiding back in here."

Casey is thankful the man didn't try to get into her house.

"It's a little scary.  It really is.  I'm going to build my wall up."

Casey and her neighbors were out of their homes for a few hours while police searched for more suspects.
