Man in serious condition after Laveen crash

Posted: Updated:
LAVEEN, Ariz. -

Three people were injured during a two-vehicle crash near 28th Avenue and Dobbins on Friday morning.

Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos says they believe the crash occurred when a driver tried to pass a car in front of him, lost control and hit a car going the opposite direction.

The driver of the passing car is a man and is in serious condition.

His passenger, a 17-year-old girl, and the driver of the impacted car were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injures, according to Martos.

Officers are working to determine if speed was a factor.

Dobbins is expected to be closed from 27th Avenue to 30th Avenue in both directions for another two to three hours.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
