Sun Devil Stadium has been a part of ASU history since it was built 56 years-ago. But the iconic structure may soon be getting a major renovation.
FOX 10 showed the drawings provided by ASU of the renovations to students to get their reaction to the overhaul.
Here's what the students had to say, "Looking at that I think I'm going to have to be at more games because it looks nice" said Briana Fletcher a sophomore.
"I like it, the stadium looks pretty updated... it looks new" said Edward Votroubek.
Some of the major changes in the works... more legroom for spectators, seats and benches with backs, more restrooms, and on the north side of the stadium a huge video board with a state of the art sound system.
"It's an old stadium and we're coming into a new generation of technology and this is going to show the world that ASU is evolving and so is our football program" said Emily Russell.
Inside escalators will connect various concourse levels. Many ASU students say the changes are long overdue.
"The walkways, the bathrooms... feel dated, they're old.... it's crowded on lower sections too, it takes a while to get out of the clutter" said Votroubek.
ASU hopes to start work on the stadium next year and have the renovations completed by 2017.
