TUCSON, Ariz. -

A man accused of stalking a 14-year-old girl since September has been arrested.

Tucson Police say the girl was walking home from high school on Sept. 16 when a man drove up next to her and asked her to get in the vehicle with him. She said no, kept walking and the vehicle sped off.

The next day, she took a different route home, but noticed the same vehicle following behind her. The driver eventually sped off away from her.

About two months later, she was walking to school when she was approached again. A neighbor saw the vehicle pull up next to the teen and asked her if she needed help.

The vehicle was seen speeding away.

Neighbors were able to get the vehicle's license plate number when it appeared in the area a few days later.

Detectives were able to identify the driver as 30-year-old James Bland.

Police say Bland is a registered sex offender, but hasn't updated his current address.

Detectives and U.S. Marshals were able to arrest Bland on Jan. 16. He was booked into jail on one count of Stalking and one count of Failure to Register.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 88-CRIME.
