Three Mexican nationals were turned over to authorities after they attempted to smuggle over 55 pounds of cocaine and meth into the US during separate incidents.

A 52-year-old Mexican man was referred for further inspection of the tractor-trailer and shipment of watermelons he was hauling at the Port of Nogales on Monday.

Officers found more than 24 pounds of meth, worth nearly $378,000, inside the vehicle's air suspension bags during their inspection.

Earlier that day, a 57-year-old Mexican man was asked for an additional inspection of his SUV at the Mariposa Port.

A U.S. Immigration and Customs narcotics detection dog alerted officers to more than 14 pounds of cocaine and nearly six pounds of meth in between the vehicle's dashboard and firewall.

The drugs were worth over $215,000.

A 48-year-old Mexican woman was referred for further inspection at the Dennis DeConcini Port on Sunday.

A narcotics dog led officers to more than 11 pounds of meth behind the front bumper; it was worth more than $174,500.

The drugs and vehicles were seized and the suspects were turned over to ICE's Homeland Security Investigations.
