Fox 9's Jonathan Choe traveled about the metro and discovered that despite the cold, Minnesotans are always finding ways to take advantage of their winter.

The puck dropped at Maynards restaurant in Excelsior on Saturday -- teams faced off during one stop of the North American Pond Hockey Championships.

The Landrum family enjoyed the trails in St. Paul on Saturday before it gets too cold next week.

State Fairgrounds: Winter Beer Dabbler

The 5th annual Winter Beer Dabbler drew thousands of brew enthusiasts outside for a cold one.

State Fairgrounds: Snowball fight
St. Paul, Minn.

In addition, winter lovers promoted a snowball fight intended to break a Guinness World Record for the largest snowball fight ever. Organizers worked to grab at least 7,000 people to throw snow for a minute and a half to topple last year's record that utilized 5,800 people in Seattle. The record is still safe, but there's always next year.
